On October 6, 2004 Praxis Engineering Technologies hosted a focused meeting of the Digital IF Working Group. The group is working to establish the VITA†-49 Standard for Digital IF. This Digital IF standard will promote interoperability within software radios by standardizing the digital connections between devices such as high-speed digitizers and the downstream processing resources. The meeting was attended by thought leaders from both the industry and government sectors with representatives from across the United States, and as far away as Canada and Scotland. Participation in developing the Digital IF Standard is one more thrust in Praxis’ efforts to become a leader in Software Radios. For more information, contact Jeremy Kaufman or David Sherwood.
† The VITA Standards Organization is an organization formed to develop and promote open technology standards. Gold level status – the highest level in the RBAP program – is offered by Rational Software (Nasdaq: RATL) to the top performing companies within the program who have reached a specified level of Rational certifications and successful customer engagements. Companies that qualify for this status gain key engineering and marketing benefits from Rational.
These qualifications demonstrate Praxis’ ability to deliver high value Rational Training, Mentoring and Software Development to its customers.

Secondly, many of our engineers are certified technically by Rational in areas including the Rational Unified Process, Requirements Management and Design/Implementation. Our engineers have significant skills with RUP, UCM and all the tools in Rational’s tool suite. Thirdly, Praxis has submitted papers to Rational, both at their Rational Users Conference and otherwise, expressing our knowledge of these technologies and of expanding their traditional uses.
